Abhyanga

Abyanga is Ayurveda's principal healing tool and the mother of all massages. It is a whole body massage given with herbal oils customized to your body type to detoxify, nourish and revitalize the body tissues. This massage is usually followed by a herbal bath or medicated steam bath (Sweda). It is one of the most rejuvenating treatments of Ayurveda.

Navarakizhi

This is a highly effective anti aging/rejuvenation massage using a special type of rice that is cooked, and dipped into herbal warm milk, then skillfully massaged simultaneously all over the body.

Patra Pinda Sweda

A highly rejuvenating treatment in which fresh plants are fried with several other herbal ingredients which are tied and, dipped into warm medicated oil and simultaneously massaged all over the body. It is applied after Abhyanga.

Indication

Chronic back pain, Loss of function of a part or whole limb, Joint stiffness and swellings, Muscular pain, Anti-aging & rejuvenating Sciatica, Spondylosis, Sprains and cramps.

Pizhichil

Medicated oil/medicated milk is poured onto the body in continuous streams while being gently massaged for one hour. It is extremely soothing and relaxing. It acts as a free radical scavenger, toning, strengthening and deeply rejuvenating the whole body.

Udvartana (Weight loss Massage)

This is a specialized herbal treatment for weight reduction. An herbal paste or powder is applied all over the body and deeply massaged with specific movements for one hour.

Sarvang Dhara

This treatment is considered extremely helpful in curing diseases like Spondylosis, Rheumatism, Spinal Disorders, Osteoarthritis, Paralysis, Neurological Disorders, Disc Problems, Hemiplegia, Back Pain, and Arthritis. In this an herbal liquid is poured all over the body by means of a special vessel. The treatment takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Kati Basti

The procedure of irrigating and applying heat to the sacral or lumber region by retaining warm medicated oils in that area is popularly known by the name Kati Basti.

This is a special technique aimed at providing relief to the lower back using warm medicated oils or herbal decoctions when bathing the lower back for 20 to 30 minutes.

Indication

This procedure is proved to be effective in-

Painful conditions of lower back region, Lumber Spondilitis , Rheumatic Arthritis , Lumbosacral Strain

Swedana

Swedana is giving heat to body parts. That relieves stiffness, heaviness, cold in the body and produces sweat. It is of many types like medicated steam or applying heat to the body parts through heated herbs. It balances the Doshas. It pacify Vata. So its very effective in Vata disorders like rheumatoid arthritis, stiff joints, body aches etc. It is very effective when taken after Abhyanga ( Ayurvedic massage).

Shirodhara

In Shirodhara, medicated warm oil/herbal decoctions/medicated milk/buttermilk is continually poured on the forehead for 20 to 30 minutes. This procedure often induces a completely relaxing and rejuvenating state of body and mind. It deeply revitalizes the central nervous system. It helps restoring prana ( life energy) by improving the quality of sleep.

Anxiety, Depression, Epilepsy, Hypertension, diabetes, Paraplegia, Insomnia, Stress etc.

Basti Karma

One of the main procedures of Panchakarma Treatment, Basti karma concentrates on the elimination of the loosened Vata Dosha out through the rectum. The treatment involves the introduction of medicinal substances, such as, herbal oils and decoctions in a liquid medium, into the rectum of the person. Vata disorders can be effectively cured by Basti karma.

Types Of Basti Karma

Nirhua Basti (Decoction Enema):
This type of treatment is predominantly used to treat arthritic conditions and nervous disorders, obstruction of urine, stools and flatus; Amenorrhea and infertility. Herbal decoction and small amounts of oil are used to treat the ailments. This type of Basti karma is not suitable for malnourished and weak people or those suffering from tuberculosis, ascites, peritonitis, intestinal obstruction, dysentery, diabetes, skin diseases and asthma.

Anuvasan Basti / Oil Enema:
Warm oil with small amounts of decoction is used in Anuvasan Basti. The treatment rejuvenates the body.

Nasya

Dripping medicated oil into the nose is known as Nasya. Nasya assists in dislodging toxins and mucus from the throat, nose, and sinuses.

Indications

Brain Disorders, Coryza, Alopecia, Premature graying of hair, Rhinitis, Migraine, Stiffness of neck and head, Dental pain, Pain in nose and eye, Sinusitis, Facial Paralysis, Loss of Speech, Frozen Shoulders, Loss of Memory etc.
